Is the Peace Corps Bad?

Is the Peace Corps a bad idea? There certainly are a number of people who have had bad experiences as Peace Corps Volunteers, however most volunteers are positive about their time in the Peace Corps. But if you are thinking about joining the Peace Corps it's a good idea to find out what to expect, good and bad.

There are a number of places on the web you can read about the Peace Corps experience.

  • For pictures taken by Peace Corps Volunteers around the world check out www.PeaceGallery.org.

  • For discussions check out www.peacecorpsonline.org.

  • If 2 1/2 years is too long, check alternatives to the Peace Corps.

  • You can also search the web but you may want to be more specific than Peace Corps Bad. Perhaps search on a certain area (agriculture, teaching, forestry, heath, etc.) or country you may be interested in working in. You may also want to add the term blog to your search to see what serving Peace Corps Volunteers are saying.
